Project Details:
The Quins previous South Stand was designed and installed by Slick and when the time came for an update the club approached Slick again to produce a tailored stand to suit their budgetary constraints.
The design had to meet a number of new requirements which included the much anticipated removal of the roof support columns from the front of the stand.
Removal of the supports required a completely different stand design with a major latticework truss to support the front of the roof.

Enclosed ends were also factored into the design giving end spectators additional shelter from the elements over the prior open ended design.
Deconstruction and removal of the previous temporary stand commenced and preparation of the ground, for a permanent structure went to schedule.
Steel beams formed the structure of the stand with the large lattice truss added to support the roof, blockwork was used to create the walls for spectator access and several concessions areas beneath the stand.

The main spectator seating area is formed from our hybrid system which allows our specially profiled aluminium risers and decks to affix to stuctural steel raker beams, this has multiple benefits including ease of seat replacement/removal, upgradability and cost benefits.
With capacity for 4645 spectators the new stand will enable The Stoop to cater for increased spectators. Concessions areas, bars with cellar, additional toilets, changing rooms and a study area will give ample provision for the Quins spectators and players alike for the forseeable futre.
